Violaine Chivot

After studying literature and Italian, Violaine took her first steps in publishing at Calmann-Lévy and rue fromentin, before becoming an editor at JC Lattès-Le Masque, where she worked for over a decade on fiction (French and international crime novels) and non-fiction. In 2024, she set up independently, editing and placing works by authors focusing on conversation-starting, socially engaged projects. She joined AJA in 2026 as a literary agent, driven by a desire to represent singular voices that challenge norms and explore the margins - voices attuned to the world: its mysteries, its political excesses, its judicial failings, but also its progress and its humanity.

Violaine is convinced that literary genres can be porous, and she is committed to championing works across fiction, non-fiction, narrative non-fiction, and graphic novels that embody these values.
